A limited edition, being number 22/a out of 2000 numbered copies. 

Previously owned by James Laughlin, the American publisher who founded the New Directions Publishing company. 

In the publishers original quarter cloth with metallic paper to the boards. 

A two volume, complete set. 

This set features Marcel Prousts fourth volume in his lengthy Remembrance of Things Past series, which was written in French and originally titled Sodome et Gomorrhe I, translated here by C. K. Scott Moncrieff. This work follows high society in France during the end of the 19th century, and early twentieth century.


CONDITION

In the publishers original quarter cloth with paper to the boards. Externally smart with handling marks and slight rubbing to the paper to the boards. Booksellers label to the front free endpapers. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
