Set in the Lincolnshire Fens, the novel follows a group of bell-ringers at the local parish church. Widely considered her best work and finest literary achievement, the novel has received minor criticism regarding inaccurate campanology details.
Sayers was a prolific author of crime fiction during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, and one of the Queens of Crime, alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh.

CONDITION
In the publishers original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with just minor shelf wear and light fading to the spine. Original unclipped dust wrapper is bright, with just some light edgewear, and light sunning to the backstrip and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
