Remise Psyché en bronze doré français, d'après Auguste Moreau, marqué LU 66

This listing is for a gorgeous vintage French gilt bronze sculpture of a winged Psyche, originally sculpted by Auguste Moreau (1834-1917). This sculpture is of Psyche carrying Cupids arrows and has lovely details. The bronze is marked "Aug Moreau, LU 66". The "66" probably designates the figure was produced in 1966, however, were not able to identify the "LU" marking. Auguste Moreau was a highly acclaimed French 19th Century sculpture who was known for the quality of his bronzes and for a very popular number of Cupid and associated figures. The bronze is bolted onto a stepped plinth base.

Measures 7 1/4" high (at wing), 3" overall width and 3" deep. Weighs 1.13 pounds.

This nice sculpture is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted issues other than minor wear and tarnish to the gilding and a production flaw where the right wing is attached. Although there is small crack in the bronze at this spot, the wing is secure and will not break.
